PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) held a
market day on 3 June 2006 at their premises, starting at
08h00. This new initiative by PwC was officially opened
by Nangula Uaandja (Senior Partner at PwC) with a prayer
and encouraging words to all exhibitors.
A spokesperson, representing PwC noted that the market
day was aimed at assisting them to focus on SME development.
Through this PwC created a platform where SMEs not only
market their products and services to consumers, but also
allowed them an opportunity to network with other SMEs.
Madelein Maritz, whose brainchild this was stated that PwC
seeks to deliberately differentiate its brand amongst its
target audiences and from time to time. The firm also engages
the SME sector from a preferential procurement perspective
and conduct workshops for Small & Medium Enterprises
to educate them in managing and growing their own businesses
successfully. The day in a sense just helped PwC to focus
on them and to introduce them to each other.
“In return we promoted the customer by creating an
environment whereby they can market their business and expand
their entrepreneurial skills to local public. We also wish
to build a relationship with potential new customers as
well as existing customers to contribute to them and to
the business environment for Namibia” said a smiling
Maritz who organised this day alongside her colleagues in
the 792 Social Club day.
Team Namibia was present at the market day, as an opportunity
arose to market the Team initiative to SMEs, in an attempt
to grow the Team Namibia SME membership base. Team Namibia
is extremely proud of the initiative taken by our Founder
Member, PwC, and we urge them to continue ploughing back
into the Namibian economy as they did through hosting the
market day.
